Start at Level 3 if you are coming straight from school or changing direction. With A-levels, a Grade 12 qualification or a relevant Level 3 diploma, you can usually start at Level 4.

Which business management courses does MIBD offer?

MIBD offers the OTHM Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies, the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management and the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Business Management, plus related diplomas in Accounting and Business, Project Management, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Can I study business management after Grade 12?

Yes. With A-levels or an equivalent Grade 12 qualification you can usually apply for the Level 4 Diploma in Business Management. If you would like a foundation first, the Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies is designed for school leavers.

What is the difference between the Level 4 and Level 5 business diplomas?

Level 4 covers business operations, finance and accounting, communication, leading teams, the global context and academic research. Level 5 moves on to strategy, human resources, marketing, business law, management accounting and starting a business. OTHM states that they are academically equivalent to the first and second years of a three-year UK bachelor’s degree.

Is a business diploma the same as a degree?

No. A diploma does not award a bachelor’s degree. After Level 5 you may be able to apply for a final-year top-up at a university with an OTHM progression arrangement; completing that top-up is what earns the degree, and the university decides who it admits.
