Choosing a hospitality course in Dubai is not only about finding the lowest tuition fee.

The total cost of studying can include tuition, registration, visa expenses, accommodation, transport and everyday living costs. Understanding the full picture before enrolling can help you plan more confidently.

Start With the Tuition Fee

Tuition is usually the largest academic expense, but fees can vary depending on the institution, qualification level, awarding body, programme duration, study mode and scholarship eligibility.

Instead of comparing only the headline price, ask exactly what the fee includes.

At MIBD, every diploma has the same programme fee: USD 7,500 before applicable scholarships, and it includes everything for your programme. The fee is charged per diploma: the Level 4 and Level 5 Tourism and Hospitality Management diplomas are separate qualifications, so studying both means two programme fees. Instalment payments are available through Tabby.

Questions to Ask Before Paying

  • Does the fee include registration?
  • Are assessment or awarding-body charges included?
  • Are there additional charges for resubmissions?
  • Can tuition be paid in instalments?
  • Are scholarships or regional discounts currently available?

Understand the Qualification You Are Paying For

Two hospitality courses may have similar names but lead to very different qualifications.

Before enrolling, check who awards the qualification, what level it sits at, how many credits it carries, how it is assessed and what academic progression routes may be available afterwards.

MIBD offers OTHM Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Students can use these qualifications as part of a structured academic pathway, subject to the entry requirements of any receiving university. You can check MIBD’s own entry requirements on the course eligibility page.

Student Visa Costs

International students should also check whether they require a UAE student visa.

Visa-related expenses may be separate from tuition and can include processing, medical examination, Emirates ID, insurance and renewal costs. Because charges and immigration requirements can change, students should request the current visa fee directly from the institute before enrolling.

The official requirements are published by GDRFA Dubai. Our guide to planning your move summarises the steps.

Accommodation

If you are moving to Dubai, accommodation can become one of your largest monthly expenses.

The cost depends on whether you choose shared accommodation, a private room, student accommodation or your own apartment. Location is also important: cheaper rent may not always save money if transport costs are significantly higher.

MIBD helps students choose housing that fits their budget, including student accommodation at Dubai Silicon Oasis; see Accommodation & Transport.

Transportation

Before choosing where to live, consider travel time to campus, public transport availability, taxi expenses and how frequently you need to attend classes.

MIBD is located in Dubai South, so students should consider their daily commute when comparing accommodation options.

Students can apply for the RTA’s nol student package, which discounts public transport fares.

Everyday Living Costs

  • Groceries and meals
  • Mobile phone and internet
  • Local transport
  • Stationery and printing
  • Personal expenses
  • Entertainment and leisure

Can Scholarships Reduce the Cost?

Yes. MIBD’s Regional-Based Scholarships offer tuition reductions of up to USD 2,500 on eligible programmes for eligible students from India, Sri Lanka and selected African countries. Merit-based, early bird and intake-based scholarships may also be offered, subject to official announcements and approval. Scholarships cannot be combined with other offers unless expressly approved.

Students should always compare the final amount payable rather than focusing only on the advertised scholarship percentage.

Your budget at a glance

  • Programme fee: USD 7,500 per diploma, before applicable scholarships
  • Scholarship: up to USD 2,500 on eligible programmes (regional, for eligible nationalities)
  • Visa, medical, Emirates ID, insurance: check the current official fees with GDRFA Dubai
  • Accommodation: depends on the type and location you choose; MIBD helps you compare
  • Transport: the RTA nol student package, or campus transport options
  • Everyday living: groceries, phone, stationery and printing, and personal costs

What Do You Study at MIBD?

MIBD’s Tourism and Hospitality pathway includes OTHM Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications.

Level 4 covers areas such as the tourism and hospitality business environment, services marketing, sustainability, events management and industry development.

Level 5 moves further into management through operations management, digital marketing, management accounting, human resources and customer relationship management.

The programmes are assessed through assignments and coursework rather than traditional final examinations.

Look at Value, Not Just Price

The cheapest hospitality programme is not automatically the best value.

Ask what qualification you will receive, what you will study, how the qualification is recognised, what progression options are available and whether the programme fits your career goals.

Intakes start every month: apply by the 25th to start the following month. For your personal fee breakdown and scholarship assessment, check your scholarship eligibility.
