A diploma, not a vendor certificate

Searches for IT courses in Dubai return everything from week-long coding bootcamps to vendor exams. MIBD’s programmes are different: they are regulated UK diplomas with a broad academic structure, not preparation for a specific vendor certification such as CCNA or AWS.

That breadth is useful if you are still deciding between software, networks, security and data. If you already know you want a particular certification, you can pursue it alongside or after the diploma.

IT courses in Dubai: common questions

Which IT courses does MIBD offer in Dubai?

MIBD offers the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology and the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology. Each is worth 120 credits and is made up of six units.

Can I study an IT diploma after Grade 12?

Usually, yes. The Level 4 IT diploma typically accepts A-levels or an equivalent Grade 12 qualification, or a relevant Level 3 diploma. Applicants aged 21 or over with relevant experience may also be considered.

Is an IT diploma the same as a Computer Science degree?

No. They overlap in places, but Computer Science degrees often go further into mathematics, algorithms and computing theory. The diplomas do not award a degree; after Level 5 you may be able to apply for a final-year top-up at a university that accepts the qualification.

Does the diploma include CCNA, AWS or other certifications?

No. The OTHM IT diplomas are broad academic qualifications and do not include vendor certification exams.
