Diploma courses in Dubai: common questions
Which diploma courses can I study at MIBD in Dubai?
MIBD offers OTHM diplomas in Business Management, Information Technology, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Accounting and Business, Project Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Health and Social Care Management, and Education and Training Management. Business Studies starts at Level 3; every subject is offered at Level 4 and Level 5.
What is the difference between Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5?
Level 3 is a foundation diploma worth 60 credits. Level 4 and Level 5 diplomas are each worth 120 credits. OTHM states that Level 4 is academically equivalent to the first year of a three-year UK bachelor’s degree and Level 5 to the second year. The diplomas do not themselves award a degree.
Are the diplomas assessed by exams?
No. Every unit is assessed through assignments such as reports, case studies, projects and presentations. Your work is marked by MIBD faculty and externally verified by OTHM, and you receive feedback throughout the programme.
Can a diploma lead to a bachelor’s degree?
It can open a route. OTHM has progression arrangements with universities that consider Level 4 holders for Year 2 entry and Level 5 holders for a final-year top-up. Each university assesses applicants individually and sets its own entry conditions, so check the exact course you want before you enrol.
Can I study part-time or online?
Yes. Programmes can be studied on campus in Dubai South, as blended learning that combines classroom and online study, or fully online through MIBD’s learning platform. Admissions can confirm the timetable for your chosen mode.
What are the entry requirements?
They depend on the level. Level 4 typically needs a relevant Level 3 diploma, A-levels or an equivalent Grade 12 qualification; Level 5 typically needs a relevant Level 4 diploma or equivalent. Mature applicants aged 21 or over with relevant experience may be considered. Full details are on the Course Eligibility page.
How much do the diploma courses cost?
Fees vary by programme and level. Your offer letter includes a full breakdown of tuition and any other charges, and the admissions team can share it on request. MIBD also offers early-bird and group enrolment discounts.
